I have been involved with music since my late teens and since then have enjoyed working in a multitude of diverse venues.
I am passionate about everything in my life and it was that passion that afforded me the opportunity to enter the world of sports announcing for the Bracknell Bees Ice Hockey club way back in 1991. It wasn't long that the cheeky delivery of the official announcements gained me polar opposite status with home and away fans as well as the match officials.
Offering something different from the vanilla approach opened doors and much recognition as well as some condemnation. In an interview for the Ice Hockey News I was asked how I gauge what to play and when? The answer was really quite simple, if my son (5 at the time) was in the audience and bored I wasn't doing my job.
The 2005/6 Elite League season found me in the announcers box for the Basingstoke Bison and one that frequently finds me at my happiest and probably most entertaining. Whilst the management of the team took the brave but sensible decision to move to the English Premier league (EPL) the product and my involvement within remains high impact.
Since 2007 I have been the lead announcer for the EIHL (Elite Ice Hockey League) cup fixtures as well as the prestigious EIHL playoff weekend which takes place as the Capital FM arena to sell out crowds in addition to the MC for Great Britain Ice Hockey fixtures.
My approach to entertainment was noticed during one of these events in Nottingham and shortly after I was host to the Masters Football summer events travelling the length and breadth of the UK featuring former premiership players representing their previous clubs in a unique competition which was also broadcast by SKY TV. The market for the Masters events changed and since 2011 I have hosted the tournament in Asia, not only as MC for game day but hosting Q& A pundit sessions with former World Cup, Champions League and Premier league players and assisting with sponsors events.
The event has grown tremendously with the biggest audience witnessed in November 2015 at the recently opened Singapore National Stadium welcomed 30,000 football fans enjoying my dulcet tones and game day entertainment.
Whilst I am currently involved as Emcee with Reading FC, Masters Football and the UK Ice Hockey fraternity I continue to thoroughly enjoy hosting weddings, celebrations and a wide range of functions.
I am very much a family man, with two young boys keen on sport and with confident personalities who I wish nothing more than to be happy, healthy and grow up with positive life experiences.

Ice Hockey, Football & Everything else"His collaborative approach that led me to suggest Queen's 'Don't stop me now' for last year's weekend, resulting in one of my favourite ever playoff moments and in my opinion the best singing at the Finals since Wembley when the track stopped and about 700 Devils fans didn't....
My point is without his professional approach and thoughtful preparation these kind of things wouldn't happen. Factor in then that not only does he not have the advantage of being the 'Home guy' for any of the teams at the weekend AND that he has to constantly ra-raa the 6 teams' fans who are NOT playing that weekend along with an endless amount of supplemental information and I think he does a damn fine job of stringing it together. I think he does an excellent job of difficult tasks with a smile and a professional attitude. You can't move on THF for people saying we don't have enough professionals involved in British Ice Hockey. We have one in Bavy and I have a lot of respect for how he goes about his business." “There is no doubt that Bavy is the best announcer in the EPL and probably the best in British Ice Hockey. The fans of all teams present will enjoy Bavys entertainment factor and he will have them well entertained!” said Steve "If ever I get married again, I want you as the DJ you were AWESOME Mate!".....(Former Premiership Keeper) "I can happily recommend Daren. He worked with us as our MC for a number of live events over the past couple of years and he has brought a fresh feel to the presentation of these shows as well as enthusiasm and clarity that has been valuable to us and appreciated by many thousands of customers!" Hatch Warren Phoenix FC - The U6 Firestarters & U7 Heat
www.hatchwarrenphonix.co.uk Community VolunteerAs chairman and coach for Hatch Warren Phoenix FC in Basingstoke I am devoted to creating positive and life long memories for the children involved. I became involved when my eldest son started in an U8 side and it wasn't long before I was getting my hands dirty and helping the current manager. Since those humble beginnings I am thrilled to have been involved heavily with the managed growth of the club from five teams to ten for season 2015/16. Promoting positive and modern coaching styles far removed from the 'boot it out' mentality of my youth. The collective efforts from all of the volunteers involved saw the club finish in the final three for Club of the year at Destination Basingstoke a place to be proud of 2015. The same year had further shortlisted with myself as Volunteer of the year, Senior Coach of the year, Hatch Warren Phoenix as Club of the year and The Phoenix Flames & Blaze as teams of the year at the Prestigious Hampshire Sports Awards , all of the above the 1st time in the clubs 10 year history. We have also achieved the FA Charter Standard which acts as a kite mark certification that Hatch Warren Phoenix FC is a safe place for children to play. |
